SMS Terms of Service

1. Program Description
OpenRoad Studies is a DBA of Oral Care Direct LLC and operates two separate text messaging programs. The account notification program sends confirmations of an inquiry you submitted, status updates about a courtesy introduction you asked for, and service notices about your preferences. The marketing program sends recurring notices about study categories and volunteer opportunities. You choose each program separately by checking its own box on our contact page. OpenRoad Studies is not a research organization, sponsor, investigator site, or healthcare provider, and no message is medical advice.
2. Consent
By checking an SMS consent box and submitting the form, you expressly consent to receive text messages from OpenRoad Studies at the mobile number you provided, sent using an automated telephone dialing system. Consent is not a condition of purchase, of receiving any guide, or of using any part of this website. Providing a phone number is always optional. Consent boxes are never checked by default and are never bundled with email consent or with each other. You must be at least 18 years old and the account holder of the mobile number, or have the account holder's permission.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies. Account notification messages are estimated at up to 4 messages per month. Marketing messages are estimated at up to 8 messages per month.
4. Cost
Msg & data rates may apply. OpenRoad Studies does not charge for these messages. Charges for text messages appear on your wireless bill or are deducted from your prepaid balance according to your plan.
5. Opting Out
You may cancel at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message. We maintain a server-side opt-out list, process opt-out requests immediately, and send a single confirmation message acknowledging the request. After that confirmation, no further messages are sent to that number unless you sign up again. You may also opt out by emailing hello@openroadstudies.com.

7. First Message After Sign-Up
The first message you receive after opting in identifies OpenRoad Studies, describes what the program delivers, states message frequency, notes that Msg & data rates may apply, confirms that you can reply STOP to cancel, and confirms that OpenRoad Studies is not a research organization or healthcare provider.
8. Carriers and Delivery
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission by your wireless carrier and is not guaranteed. Supported carriers may change without notice.
9. Privacy and Data Handling
Mobile information and consent records collected for this program are never sold, shared, or transferred to research organizations, study sponsors, drug development companies, or third-party marketers for their own purposes. Information may be shared only with service providers who help us deliver messages, and only for that purpose. When you ask for a courtesy introduction, your contact information is shared with that one independent program only, for the sole purpose of that introduction, and only after you have been separately informed and have agreed. 10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these SMS Terms of Service. The revised version takes effect when posted on this page with an updated date. Continued participation in the program after an update means you accept the change.
